Senior Principal – Executive Search | Eschborn, Germany

In this role, you’ll take the lead on end-to-end search execution, working independently while collaborating closely with our Originators. Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End (E2E) Project Delivery

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for successful execution of assignments. Where the assignment is financially viable, managing more junior colleagues as appropriate in the development and execution of work plans. Otherwise works independently in the delivery of assignments alongside Originators directly.
  • Works with clients and candidates to lead discussions to understand the parameters of the search assignments.
  • Leads quality discussions with the Clients based on his/her market specialist and industry knowledge.
  • Conducts progress meetings with clients on the search strategy and provides market advice and recommendations.
  • Manages candidates through the entire SF 21 Milestones ES process, keeping them informed, preparing them for interviews and sharing final feedback with them. Ensures candidates have a positive view of the firm regardless of the outcome of the search.
  • Prepares candidate reports for client status meetings.
  • Communicates between the client and the candidate including negotiation of compensation with the candidate on behalf of the client.
  • Constantly looks to improve methodologies in the execution process to enable the firm to deliver the highest possible quality to our clients.
  • Ensures strong client satisfaction and repeat client business.
  • Demonstrates continued professional development.
  • Accurate and timely CRM management and other tools usage. Accountable for overall project CRM quality/compliance per assignment.

Business Development

  • Uses relevant sources to gather information on clients and develop market knowledge
  • Direct approach to clients to identify business leads and gather relevant market information
  • Uses effective questioning techniques to identify business leads from candidates and information on potential vacancies with clients, knowledge on any changes in personnel with clients and develop an understanding of clients
  • Uses business leads to target companies in the relevant sectors
  • Develops new business contacts and client lists
  • Meets with clients to promote all SpenglerFox services; identify cross-selling opportunities and engage the relevant teams to deliver those
  • Drives conference calls and takes initiative to share client knowledge with international colleagues throughout SpenglerFox
  • Targets clients in their region and identifies contacts for international colleagues
  • Meets with clients to promote SpenglerFox services.
  • Attends relevant networking events and international industry-related conferences.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree or local equivalent and/or appropriate experience from a relevant industry
  • Industry experience and ideally exposure to one or more of the industries which comprise the core practice groups of the company.
  • A detailed understanding of the Executive Search industry and practices is essential
  • Fully independent delivery capabilities according to the SF ES process
  • Experience and demonstrated interest in business management, building a client portfolio, acquiring new clients
  • Ability to interact with C-level stakeholders of client companies
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Fluency in German and English is mandatory. Fluency in other languages would be perceived as an advantage
